unnamedDrew Weber

Andrew Weber is a drummer and educator with over 25 years of professional playing and teaching experience.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and began playing drums in the late 1970’s. His first instructor was then local drummer Roxy Petrucci, who went on to play with the legendary band “Vixen”. Throughout high school he participated in every musical situation possible. Orchestra, marching band, jazz band, pep band, talent shows, and also with the pit orchestra for the schools musicals. This led him to his first professional gigs at the age of 16 playing shows with a local theater company, and soon after that was also playing in clubs with various groups. After high school Drew majored in performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. While at Berklee he studied with master drummers, John Ramsay, Joe Hunt, Tommy Campbell, Skip Hadden, and others. All the while continuing to gig around the Boston/Cambridge area.

Upon leaving Boston he spent some time traveling with various original and cover bands performing in clubs predominantly in the Midwest and east coast, before eventually settling back into Michigan.

Over the last 20 years Drew established himself as one of the top drum and percussion instructors of the Detroit metro area with over 2000 private students to his credit. He has also worked with numerous schools as a percussion assistant and drum line instructor.

In January of 2016 Drew moved back to the east coast after accepting a position to teach at the Midcoast Music Academy in Rockland, Maine. In addition to teaching drums and percussion at the academy, Drew also teaches a variety of group classes, music theory, and beginning piano as well.

As a player he has worked with countless bands of varying genres, and continues to play regularly.

Drew is often asked by his piers and aspiring drum instructors to share his pedagogic skills. He started The Musicians Notepad with long time co-worker and friend Jeremy Otto as a means of opening their experience and knowledge to a larger community of musicians and educators with the goal to share and gain more information about what is a life long passion, the daily pursuit of playing and teaching music.
